Things to do in Adelboden

Adelboden sits above the Engstligen valley at 1,353 m, roughly 45 minutes from Interlaken by bus via Frutigen, with no direct rail link. The Chuenisbärgli slope hosts the men's World Cup slalom and giant slalom every January, drawing crowds that fill the village's hotels months ahead.

Below the village, the Engstligen Falls drop 620 m in stages, ranked the second-highest waterfall system in Switzerland, and are reached on a 30-minute valley walk from the Engstligenalp cable car base station. The Tschentenalp gondola climbs directly from Adelboden to 1,750 m for walking and sledging in winter.

Ski passes cover a linked area running through to Lenk, and in summer the same lifts serve hikers rather than skiers, with far quieter trails and lower prices than the winter peak.
